JMorton Planning & Landscape Architecture is a full-service design firm offering Planning, Landscape Architecture and Government Services throughout South Florida. We provide site planning, land planning and entitlement,  landscape architecture, urban design and streetscape services.  Through our work with commercial and residential developers, JMorton creates unique places for people to live, work and play.

We have an extensive portfolio of private sector developments including commercial, residential , institutional and mixed use projects.  Our landscape architects work closely with Architects, Country Club General Managers and Design Committees to provide world class amenities through landscape and hardscape design services.  Our Government Services division provides landscape architecture and planning services for several municipalities, and we are actively involved on projects with the Palm Beach County Parks & Recreation and Engineering departments, as well as Palm Beach County and Martin County schools.  We partner frequently on county, municipal and school district RFPs, resulting in a rapidly expanding Government Services portfolio.

We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect to help lead our team into the exciting opportunities resulting from the tremendous residential and commercial growth occurring throughout South Florida.

Position Requirements:

• Degree in Landscape Architecture or related design profession.
• State of Florida Licensure or working towards Licensure.
• Ability to review and apply government regulations as part of the design process.
• Knowledge and experience with governmental approvals.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD. Photoshop and/or Illustrator is a plus.
• Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) skills.
• Good communication and verbal presentation skills.
• Ability to quickly develop design concepts for client review.
• Development of site plans from concept to final plan approval.
• Experience with Palm Beach County code requirements for commercial, residential and mixed use projects is a plus.
• 5-10 years experience.

Job Description/Functions:

• Research, including development code and comprehensive plans
• Preparing applications for various land approvals
• Writing and editing technical reports such as justification statements, comprehensive plan and text amendments, etc.
• Developing presentation materials for public hearings and neighborhood meetings
• Attending meetings with clients, county and municipal staff and project managers
• Support Senior Project Manager

Qualifications:

• Bachelor or Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning or related field
• 2-5 years experience
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret land development regulations
• Familiarity with Palm Beach County and surrounding area desirable
• Excellent writing skills
• Software graphics: Photoshop desirable
• Advanced Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

JMorton Planning & Landscape Architecture is a planning and landscape architecture firm that services residential and commercial builders and developers. The firm works on a wide range of projects including master plans for large tracts of land, site plans for residential, commercial, school and other institutional uses, as well as landscape plans for entry features, pools and hardscape design. JMorton Planning & Landscape Architecture is often part of a teaming effort for city and county RFP’s.

Position Requirements:

• Degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft (Word and Excel) skills.
• Working knowledge of graphic software programs (Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, InDesign, Illustrator, and PowerPoint).
• Freehand illustration and rendering skills a plus.
• Excellent site planning skills.
• Ability to review and apply government regulations.
• Portfolio of work samples.
• Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
• Minimum Experience – 1-5 years experience.
• Minimum Education Level – Bachelor’s Degree.
• Required Major – Landscape Architecture.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience working for residential and commercial builders and developers.
• Working knowledge of PBC Unified Land Development Code.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Self-motivated.
• Ability to produce high quality work in a fast paced environment.
• Good communication and verbal presentation skills.
• Pursuit of Florida licensure a plus.

• Senior or Master level student pursuing a Landscape Architecture degree.
